Ms. Figueroa began her career at Syracuse Academy of Science (SASCS) Elementary School as a co-teacher, quickly distinguishing herself through her dedication and passion for education. She excelled as the Lead Kindergarten Teacher for eight years, during which she demonstrated exemplary teaching practices, mentored colleagues, and chaired the Kindergarten Team. Born and raised in Syracuse, Ms. Figueroa is an SASCS alumna who began her journey with SANY in 2005 as a freshman. She pursued her dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher at Syracuse University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Inclusive Childhood and Special Education. While working at SANY, she furthered her education by completing her Master's in Childhood Education from LeMoyne College. She is pursuing a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership at Syracuse University.

The SANY community has expanded significantly since her time as a student, now serving more urban youth needing equitable education.
In her personal life, Ms. Figueroa enjoys spending time with her family, who share her SANY legacy—her siblings are also alumni, and her nephew is currently a SANY scholar.
