On March 7, 2024, the New York State Department of Health released newly revised COVID-19 guidelines. The updated guidance has ended the mandatory 5-day isolation period for people who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Basically, individuals can go back to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both of the following are true:
