Atoms Participate in the Congressional Awards Program

Syracuse Academy of Science high school students participating in The Congressional Awards Program volunteer their time and service at the Rescue Mission’s Thrifty Store.

Saturday, November 13th, 2021—Syracuse Academy of Science high school students in Mr. Yaman's class are participating in The Congressional Awards Program. For those not familiar with The Congressional Awards Program, it was established in 1979 by The United States Congress and recognizes initiative, service, and achievement in young people. Today, The Congressional Award remains Congress' highest honor a member of the U.S. Senate or House of Representatives may bestow upon a youth civilian.

For The Congressional Awards Program, each Saturday Atoms set aside a portion of their day to serve the community and earn community service hours. This past Saturday, Atoms volunteered their time and service at the Rescue Mission’s Thrifty Store in East Syracuse. Keep up the great work, Atoms! You are making an incredible difference in the community.
