NY Ed Law 2-D Employee Training
Schools have always collected, stored, used, and shared information related to students and staff. And there have always been challenges with securing this information and protecting individual privacy. New York Education Law Section 2-d protects the privacy and security of personally identifiable information of students, teachers, and principals.
SANY provides data privacy and security awareness training to its employees with access to personally identifiable information annually.
This training is designed to give an overview of the obligations under this regulation and other federal and New York State laws that address data privacy and security. Topics covered include certain information that may be protected, how protected information should be collected, stored, and shared, proper responses to breaches or unauthorized releases, and additional laws related to data privacy and security.
